About Us
GENERAL INFORMATION
My wife and I founded All-Weather Steel in 1994 offering metal, carports and RV covers. Customers were quick to see great value in our all steel garages, shops and barns.
We operated that business successfully until 2009. During that time we marketed, designed, sold, fabricated, delivered and erected a large variety custom metal buildings. All-Weather Steel Structures were delivered and erected throughout California and Oregon with the help of our dealer network. Perhaps you or a neighbor have one of our original round tube carports or RV covers with 26 Ga. McElroy Metal panels. We designed many components over the years, our one piece soffit, and leafless gutter set our finished garages and shops apart from other metal buildings.
Now, “All-Weather Steel Structures” are supplied by “Pacific Metal Buildings Inc.” They are a dedicated team of family members, employees and installers. Good customer service is paramount, the friendly staff at Pacific Metal Buildings will treat you with respect and action.
We get an inquiry and send a quote out, some inquiries lead to a site visit not all sales require a visit. If the customer wants to meet they can get help with or advice with the location of the structure, advise on the design of the building such as window and door placement.
We speak about available options, color schemes, energy concerns and natural lighting. I can help to answer permitting questions and assist with site plan drawings.
When going through a typical permit process times will vary depending on your local planning and buildings workload and the scope of the project. I have seen fast tracking from a week to 2 weeks I have seen the approval process take over a month and in some cases several months. Knowing your property’s zoning is important before inquiring about building on it, as well as being aware of any easements that may be present. Filing an application with a good project plan and proper site plan will help with the approval process. You can request Engineering at no additional cost for our standard buildings when you place your order. Orders are filled in the order they are received any delays and you fall out of order which can extend the delivery date out.
Concrete slabs or footings should cure for 28 days before building on them. If you can get a break in the weather you might find a contractor willing to chance doing concrete work in the winter, maybe!
Carports, rv covers, simple structures can be delivered and erected more quickly and easily than fully enclosed buidings that require more time to fabricate and erect.
So order your building in the summer and it will be up in the fall.
If you order in the fall and you may wait till spring for crews to be able to work.
